Grayhawk opened in 1994 in north Scottsdale with two championship layouts: Raptor, by Tom Fazio, and Talon, by David Graham and Gary Panks. Both play to par 72 and both are open to public tee times.

Why it works this way
Tournament golf, on a public tee sheet.
Grayhawk hosted the PGA TOUR from 2007 to 2009 and the NCAA Championships from 2021 to 2023. Courses that hold a championship are usually private by the time you read about them. These two are not.
Which is the whole proposition: the same conditioning the field played on, available on an ordinary Tuesday morning to anybody who books it.

One maintenance standard
Conditions are held the same across both layouts. There is no quiet course and no championship course; there is a choice of round.

North Scottsdale, under the McDowell Mountains, and inside a comfortable drive of Phoenix, Paradise Valley and Cave Creek.
